Codepage problems & WP article authors mixed up

Hello,

I tried out the WP Bridge functionality, and it worked surprisingly well from the start. However, there are some issues with it.

1) The codepage of my VBulletin is Cyrillic (Windows-1251); WP is UTF-8. There is a general problem with representing Windows-1251 characters, for example, in the mapping table for user groups (see Screenshot 1).

2) The name of the author of the WP Post got erased after installing the Bridge; instead, it is again garbled through the Cyrillic -> UTF8 conversion. After decoding it I found out that this is actually the first user in our DB which is displayed as author (Screenshot 2).

3) Apart from that, avatars weren't taken over from VB.

You can change the encoding in the WP settings..

You can convert the old posts to the VB users in the Tools section.

Yes, for WP itself (which is fine with UTF8). I suggest the problem is basically an issue with such mixed environments, unfortunately, which often have historical origins.
However, as there also cyrillic usernames in our Forum, this would render this plugin rather unusable, unfortunately.
